BIMS / SCORIA
WHY BIMSBLOCK?
The walls surrounding buildings are the surfaces exposed to external effects, where the heat loss is at its maximum. The materials applied on such surfaces have considerable importance and contribution in terms of heat isolation. Bimsblock represents an efficient and permanent solution for the professional users that consider such criteria.
Further to its success in heat isolation, users of the construction sector continue to prefer bimsblock as it is flameproof, manufactured of natural material, provides ease of application and has lower costs, when compared with its alternatives. The effectuation of the TS 825 Heat Isolation Regulation has distinguished bimsblock with consideration of the reasons stated above.
SCORIA
Scoria forms when the lava with basaltic characteristics leak through cracks pursuant to the explosions of various volcanic activities. It is a porous, glass-like volcanic rock type with a basaltic-andesitic composition and it is also reach with iron and magnesium.
It has an irregular shape and formed of fragments with different dimensions. It is rather seen in red, brown and black tones owing especially to the effect of oxidation. It is weight value is quite low as the pore formations on its surface are homogeneous in terms of shape, dimension and distribution.
BIMS (PUMICE)
The technical literature calls Bims with names like “pumice", "scoria", "pumist" and "pomza”. The materials in different dimensions, which are obtained by the processing of bims rocks in crushing-screening plants, are called the “Bims Aggregate”.
The Bims Aggregate is a raw material type that is used internationally for many years in many industrial branches. In industrial terms, it is porous, volcanic, harmless, long-lasting, heat & sound isolating raw material that is entirely natural and resistant to physical and chemical impacts. The density of the aggregates varies between 350-1100 kg/m³.
Bims rocks include various pores during their formation. As the spaces within these pores are unconnected, its permeability is quite low and heat & sound isolation is quite high. These particularities make the Bims Aggregate and ideal construction material.
